Safety Relay SAFE-SIL – Safe Coupling Relay and Expansion Module up to SIL 3 / PL e
The SAFE-SIL from SALZ Automation is a universal safety coupling relay for safe signal transmission in safety-related applications. It is suitable both for galvanic isolation and power amplification of safe signals from safety PLC systems and as a contact expansion module for existing safety circuits. The module is TÜV certified and meets the requirements up to Category 4, PL e according to EN ISO 13849-1, and SILCL 3 according to EN 62061 and EN 61508.
The safety relay has three instantaneous safety NO contacts and one instantaneous auxiliary contact (NC). Through integrated cyclical self-monitoring, output contacts, internal logic, and input circuitry are continuously monitored. Faults are reliably detected without impairing the safety function.
Thanks to automatic start, compact design, and DIN rail mounting, the SAFE-SIL is ideal for mechanical engineering, control cabinet construction, and industrial automation. It can be used as a safe coupling relay for fail-safe PLC outputs or as a contact expansion module for safety relays. A feedback loop is not required in many applications.
The safety contacts are designed for switching currents up to 8 A and enable the safe shutdown of contactors, drives, and other safety-relevant loads.
