Safety Relay SAFE-EXP – Contact Extension Module up to SIL 3 / PL e
The SAFE-EXP from SALZ Automation is a safety extension module for the safe expansion of existing safety circuits. It was specifically developed to provide additional safety contacts when the output contacts of an existing safety relay or safety controller are insufficient. This allows further contactors, drives or machine functions to be safely integrated into the safety circuit.
The module meets the requirements up to Category 4, Performance Level e (PL e) according to EN ISO 13849-1, as well as SILCL 3 according to EN 62061, making it suitable for demanding safety applications in mechanical and plant engineering. The positively driven contacts and integrated self-monitoring ensure a high level of operational safety.
The SAFE-EXP has four safe normally open contacts and one auxiliary normally closed contact. It is controlled via the safety outputs of an upstream safety relay or safety controller. LED indicators enable quick diagnosis and status monitoring during operation.
Thanks to its compact design and easy DIN rail mounting, the module can be integrated into control cabinets in a space-saving manner and flexibly used to extend existing safety functions.
