Safety Relay SAFE-DELAY – Emergency Stop Monitoring with Adjustable Disconnection Delay
The SAFE-DELAY from SALZ Automation is a universal safety relay for monitoring emergency stop circuits, safety gates, and safety sensors with an adjustable, safe disconnection delay. The module combines instantaneous and delayed safety contacts, thus enabling controlled rundown or braking of machines and plant components after a safety shutdown.
The disconnection delay can be continuously adjusted from 1 to 30 seconds. While the instantaneous safety contacts switch off immediately in case of danger, the delayed safety contacts remain active for the set time. This allows, for example, brakes, run-on controls, or tool retraction to be carried out safely.
The safety module supports the evaluation of emergency stop buttons, mechanical safety switches, non-contact safety sensors, and OSSD outputs. It meets the requirements up to Category 4, PL e according to EN ISO 13849-1, and SILCL 3 according to EN 62061. Cyclic self-monitoring as well as short-circuit and earth-fault monitoring ensure a high degree of operational safety.
The SAFE-DELAY has two instantaneous safety contacts and two delayed safety contacts. Thanks to its compact design of 22.5 mm, the device is ideal for use in mechanical engineering, control cabinet construction, and industrial automation systems.
