Safety Relay SAFE-DELAY-3S – Emergency Stop Monitoring with 3-Second Off-Delay
The SAFE-DELAY-3S from SALZ Automation is a safety relay for monitoring emergency stop circuits, safety gates, and light curtains with an integrated safe 3-second off-delay. The module combines instantaneously acting safety contacts with delayed-off safety contacts, enabling controlled braking or run-on of machine components after a safety shutdown.
The safety module features two undelayed safety contacts and two safety-related contacts with a fixed 3-second off-delay. This allows dangerous movements to be stopped immediately, while, for example, brakes, fans, or run-on controls remain active for a short period.
The SAFE-DELAY-3S supports the evaluation of emergency stop buttons, mechanical safety switches, non-contact safety sensors, and OSSD outputs. The integrated self-monitoring reliably detects faults such as short circuits, ground faults, or contact faults and meets the requirements up to Category 4, PL e according to EN ISO 13849-1, and SILCL 3 according to EN 62061.
Thanks to its compact design with a width of only 22.5 mm and DIN rail mounting, the safety relay is ideal for mechanical engineering, conveying technology, packaging machines, and industrial automation systems.
